Summary:
Reporting to the Associate Dean of Education this role will be responsible for administrative and compliance tasks, faculty development and will exercise discretion and independent judgment in matters related to academic operations, faculty performance, and instructional quality.
Administrative Tasks:
- Develop, manage, and update administrative processes in consultation with the Associate Dean of Education, making recommendations and decisions that support academic efficiency and quality
- Maintain quality service by enforcing customer service standards, analyzing and resolving quality and customer service problems, and recommending improvements
- Review and follow up with instructor and programmatic surveys and assessments while analyzing and sharing this data with faculty and staff
- Perform Canvas related tasks as assigned
- Provide administrative support for course scheduling, including recommending adjustments to meet instructional needs
Compliance Tasks:
- Responsible for start and end of term process and procedures including grade finalization and extension tracking
- Maintain compliance with accreditation related to instruction and the quality of education
- Monitoring academic standards and ensure quality of teaching, learning and academic outcomes
- Responsible for managing and tracking instructor time off requests
- Audit grades on a weekly basis to ensure accuracy and timely completion, identifying issues and recommending corrective action
Faculty Development:
- Participate in the instructor interview process
- Lead new faculty orientation and onboarding tasks
- In conjunction with the Associate Dean of Education, conduct formal and informal classroom observations
- Provide regular student engagement workshops and other on-going faculty development training sessions
- Advise faculty on policies and procedures
- Assist with coaching, mentoring, and counseling faculty in partnership with the Associate Dean of Education
- Responsible for ensuring faculty embody CIAT's mission, professionalism, and the goals of the department
- Use professional expertise and judgment to provide guidance, feedback, and recommendations to improve instructional quality and faculty performance
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required, must be from an accredited institution
- Two years of classroom experience teaching adults preferred
- Canvas experience preferred
- Experience coaching and mentoring faculty in a higher education setting preferred
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic; dedicated to quality, quantity, and timeliness of results
- Able to handle sensitive information with a high degree of confidentiality
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate needs and exercise independent judgment
- Detail oriented, excellent analytical and problem resolution skills
- Exhibits a high degree of flexibility in adapting to a rapidly changing environment
- Position may require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours to accommodate business needs and deadlines
- Good working knowledge of MS Office applications including Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as learning technologies such as Canvas
- Work independently with minimal supervision, with a high level of dependability
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, academic departments, and administration to support student success, achieve institutional goals and contribute to a positive and inclusive culture

- Knowledge of current trends, best practices, and didactic approaches in higher education
- Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging and effective lesson plans that meet the diverse needs of students

- Compliance with all college policies, procedures, and regulations, including those related to academic integrity, student conduct, and instructional delivery

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Days and hours of work are Monday-Tuesday: 10:00am-7:00pm Eastern Time and Wednesday-Thursday 9:00am-6:00pm Eastern Time and Fridays 8:00am-5:00pm Eastern Time. Occasional weekend and evening hours may be required.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
