We are hiring a Shipping & Receiving Associate for our busy facility in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This dynamic role is at the forefront of our Logistics operations, managing the flow of goods in and out of our warehouse. You will be responsible for accurately receiving incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, and safely storing inventory. On the shipping side, you will prepare outgoing orders, ensure proper packaging and labeling, and coordinate with carriers for timely pickups. Maintaining a safe and organized dock area is crucial, and adherence to all Safety protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is mandatory. This position requires the ability to handle physical tasks, including Lifting and moving packages of various sizes and weights. You will work collaboratively with a team of dedicated professionals to ensure efficient and accurate processing of all inbound and outbound shipments. Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against documentation.
- Unload trucks and transport goods to designated storage areas.
- Prepare and stage outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and proper labeling.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment as needed.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and report any discrepancies.
- Ensure the dock area is clean, organized, and safe at all times.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with carriers, vendors, and internal staff.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including Lifting items up to 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with warehouse Safety standards and the use of PPE.
- Understanding of basic Logistics and inventory control.
- Proficiency in using scanning equipment and basic computer skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
