We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator for our Virginia Beach, Virginia distribution center. This is a key role in our logistics department, ensuring the efficient movement and storage of goods. You will operate forklifts to load, unload, transport, and stack products throughout the warehouse. A strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols, including maintaining safe operating distances and proper load handling, is essential. Your role will directly impact the productivity and accuracy of our operations. We are committed to a safe working environment, and all employees must adhere to safety regulations, including the mandatory use of PPE.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to move, stack, and retrieve inventory.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport goods between different areas of the warehouse.
- Perform pre-operational checks on forklifts and report any issues.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and location data.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Support shipping and receiving activities as needed.
- Contribute to the overall effectiveness of our logistics operations.
Qualifications:
Certified forklift operator with substantial experience. Proven ability to operate various types of forklifts in a warehouse setting. Knowledge of warehouse safety best practices and logistics operations. Must be able to perform physical duties, including lifting up to 50 lbs, and stand for extended periods. Strong attention to detail and awareness of surroundings. Commitment to adhering to safety standards and wearing required PPE. Good communication and teamwork skills. High school diploma or equivalent required.
