We are seeking a certified and experienced Forklift Operator to join our Indianapolis, Indiana warehouse team. As a vital part of our logistics operations, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts to move, stack, and retrieve materials within the distribution center. Your ability to maneuver equipment in a busy warehouse environment, manage inbound and outbound shipments, and maintain accurate inventory movements will be critical. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, adherence to all operational procedures, and a keen awareness of your surroundings. We provide a safe work environment and expect all employees to strictly follow safety guidelines, including the proper use of PPE.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper stacking and securing of goods.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Assist with order picking and fulfillment as needed.
- Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on forklift equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements and locations.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Work collaboratively with other warehouse personnel to ensure smooth operations.
- Identify and report any hazards or safety concerns immediately.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience. Minimum of 2 years of forklift operation in a warehouse or logistics setting. Ability to operate various types of forklifts. Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and best practices. Must be able to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in varying temperatures. Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness. Commitment to wearing required PPE at all times. Good communication and teamwork skills. High school diploma or equivalent required.
