We are seeking a meticulous Shipping Clerk to join our team in Columbus, Ohio. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all outgoing shipments. Your attention to detail will ensure that our customers receive their orders correctly and on schedule, playing a critical part in our logistics operations. You will work closely with the warehouse team to ensure smooth transitions from order fulfillment to dispatch.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping labels, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Inspect outgoing merchandise for accuracy and damage.
- Package items securely for shipment, ensuring all products are protected.
- Maintain an organized shipping area.
- Operate shipping software and equipment efficiently.
- Communicate with customers and internal departments regarding shipping status.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- This role may involve moderate physical activity and requires attention to detail.
- Occasional lifting of packages up to 25 lbs may be required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related administrative role.
- Proficiency with computers and shipping software.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Understanding of shipping regulations and documentation.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and supply chain logistics.
