We are looking for a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Atlanta, Georgia. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of outgoing shipments. This includes verifying order details, preparing shipping labels, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate. Your role is crucial in ensuring that our products reach their destinations smoothly and efficiently. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. You will be expected to uphold our high standards of safety, including the proper use of PPE and adherence to all warehouse safety guidelines. Responsibilities:
- Verify accuracy of outgoing orders against shipping documents.
- Generate and apply shipping labels using shipping software.
- Schedule pickups with various shipping carriers.
- Prepare bills of lading and other shipping documentation.
- Track shipments and provide updates as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipments.
- Communicate with internal teams and external carriers.
- Ensure the shipping area is clean, organized, and safe.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, including the correct use of PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed to support logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency with computers and shipping software (e.g., FedEx Ship Manager, UPS WorldShip).
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and the importance of PPE.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be reliable and able to work independently.
