We are seeking a motivated and technically capable Business Systems Analyst to support the development, optimisation and maintenance of our business and reporting systems. This role is ideal for a Computer Science graduate with approximately two years of industry experience, particularly in systems development, management information and data visualisation.
Acting as a Deputy to the Business Systems Manager, you will play a key role in enhancing system functionality, improving data quality, and delivering insightful reporting solutions that support operational and strategic decision making across the organisation.
*Key Responsibilities:*
*Systems Development & Support*
* Contribute to the design, development and enhancement of internal business systems used across engineering, operations, commercial, and service functions
* Assist in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving system issues to ensure smooth day to day operations and support continuous improvement.
* Support system upgrades, integrations, and configuration changes in line with business requirements.
* Document system processes, workflows, and technical specifications.
* Identify potential systems including AI as appropriate to support and develop further administrative efficiencies.
*Management Information & Reporting*
* Develop, maintain, and optimise Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models to provide clear, actionable insights including provision of the monthly board report templates extracted into PowerPoint.
* Work closely with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into effective BI solutions.
* Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all reporting outputs including regular liaison with the IT department.
* Support the creation of automated reporting processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual workload.
*Business Analysis*
* Gather, analyse, and document business requirements for system improvements and new functionality.
* Map existing processes and identify opportunities for optimisation, automation, or digitalisation.
* Collaborate with cross functional teams—including engineering, finance, operations, and commercial—to ensure systems align with business needs
*Deputy Responsibilities*
* Act as the primary support to the Business Systems Manager, stepping in during absence or peak workload periods.
* Assist in planning and prioritising system development activities
* Support governance of and compliance to data standards, system usage, and reporting frameworks across the organisation including GDPR.
* Contribute to training and user support initiatives to improve system adoption and capability.
* Support with any other duties as reasonably required.
*Skills & Experience Required Essential*
* Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
* Approximately 2 years’ experience in a business system, data, or reporting role.
* Hands on experience with Power BI (dashboards, DAX, data modelling) and Crystal reporting.
* Experience developing or supporting business systems, databases, or reporting tools.
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
* Ability to communicate technical concepts to non technical stakeholders.
* Good understanding of data structures, relational databases, and system workflows.
* Advanced MS Office skills, primarily Excel and PowerPoint.
*Desirable*
* Experience in the Energy Engineering, Equipment, or Industrial Services sector.
* Knowledge of SQL, Power Query or other scripting languages.
* Familiarity with ERP, CRM, or asset management systems.
* SharePoint and Access Accounting development experience.
* Understanding of data governance and information management best practices.
