Cashier/Server

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier/Server to join our vibrant food service team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, handling transactions accurately, and delivering a positive dining experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food industry operations, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Previous restaurant or food service experience is preferred but not required, as training will be provided. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in cash handling, food preparation, and customer engagement within a dynamic café or quick-service setting.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS.
• Handle cash, credit card transactions, and process payments efficiently while maintaining accuracy and security.
• Prepare and serve food items according to established standards, ensuring quality and presentation.
• Upsell menu items and promote specials to enhance sales and improve customer satisfaction.
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, dining areas, and food prep zones in compliance with sanitation and food safety regulations.
• Assist with food handling, bussing tables, and ensuring timely delivery of orders to customers.
• Follow proper food safety procedures including sanitation practices and proper food handling techniques.
• Support team members during busy periods by assisting with kitchen tasks or serving duties as needed.
• Ensure all restaurant policies are adhered to regarding safety, sanitation, and customer service standards.

Skills

• Strong customer service skills with a friendly attitude and professional demeanor.
• Experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus.
• Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and managing sales transactions accurately.
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety standards in the food industry or quick service environment.
• Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables or orders efficiently during peak hours.
• Ability to upsell menu items effectively to increase sales while providing excellent service.
• Previous experience in restaurant settings, cafes, retail stores, or grocery stores is advantageous.
• Good communication skills for interacting with customers and team members effectively.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and sanitation standards.
