We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programs that drive precision machining processes. Your expertise will ensure that parts are manufactured efficiently, accurately, and to the highest quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery and cutting-edge software, contributing directly to the production of complex components used across various industries.
Responsibilities
- Develop and modify CNC programs for a variety of machines including CNC milling machines and CNC lathes using CAM programming software such as SolidCam, Solidworks, Fusion 360.
- Interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings, ensuring precise understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications.
- Set up and operate CNC equipment, including CNC milling machines and CNC lathes, ensuring optimal performance.
- Utilize CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software like SolidWorks to create or review part models before programming.
- Conduct precision measurements using tools such as bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision measuring instruments to verify part accuracy.
- Apply lean manufacturing principles to streamline machining processes, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency.
- Troubleshoot machining issues by analyzing tooling setups, schematics, and machine parameters; adjust programs as needed for continuous improvement.
- Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, tooling configurations, and inspection results to ensure traceability and quality compliance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience programming CNC milling machines and CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong proficiency with Fanuc controls and familiarity with other control systems is highly desirable.
- Expertise in CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, or similar platforms for designing and programming parts.
- Solid understanding of GD&T principles, blueprint reading, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
- Knowledge of machining processes including electrical discharge machining (EDM), tooling selection, geometry calculations, and fixture design.
- Ability to operate precision measuring instruments like bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), bore gauges, and schematics for quality assurance.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with a strong foundation in math skills necessary for precise programming and measurement tasks.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices to promote efficiency within the machining process.
