Electrical Estimator – Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to join our growing construction team. This role is responsible for producing accurate and competitive electrical estimates that align with project plans, specifications, schedules, and budgets. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, and cost control, and can translate drawings and specifications into clear, well-structured bids.

This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of commercial, industrial, and institutional projects, collaborating closely with project managers, field teams, vendors, and clients to support successful project execution from bid through completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical estimates using Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other estimating tools, including labor, material, equipment, overhead, and allowances.
• Review drawings, specifications, addenda, and contracts to fully understand project scope and identify risks, gaps, or cost-saving opportunities.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
• Develop complete bid proposals and assist with bid strategy, scope clarifications, and value-engineering options.
• Collaborate with project managers and operations teams to support budgeting, scheduling, and resource planning.
• Track estimated vs. actual costs on awarded projects to improve future estimating accuracy.
• Maintain knowledge of NEC requirements, local codes, and industry best practices.
• Support contract reviews related to electrical scope and assist during negotiations as needed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by reviewing completed projects and refining estimating processes.

Experience & Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator or similar role on commercial or industrial construction projects.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC, electrical construction methods, and estimating best practices.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu; experience with HeavyBid or comparable estimating software preferred.
• Ability to analyze drawings and specifications and clearly define electrical scope.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Field electrical experience or hands-on construction background is highly preferred.
• Understanding of construction safety standards and project management fundamentals is a plus.

Pay: $50, $100,000.00 per year
