Service Technician

As a Service Technician you will work at our Wilks Tire location in Trussville, AL, providing light mechanical service and tire service to both the Commercial Trucking industry and private autos. You will perform the following services:

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Perform light mechanical maintenance on vehicles:
• Lube, oil change, filter service

Replace and/or repair tires

• Alignments
• Front End Suspension
• BrakesAir System
• DOT Annual Inspections
• Determine service requirements from commercial truck drivers and private auto owners and communicate to Service Supervisor and/or Service Technicians
• Properly execute required service ticket to submit to management.
• Respond in a timely manner to customer service calls, diagnosing issues, and performing on-site repairs and/or replacements.
• Clean and maintain service equipment.
• Any other duties as assigned by management
• Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods of time, which may include light and heavy lifting, including commercial tires and wheels, standing, bending, and squatting.
• Report any safety issues immediately to management.
• Help keep shop clean and organized
• Maintaining a Professional Appearance

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum1 year ofexperienceincluding brakes, oil changes, front end work, all wheel position alignments.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Have your own tools
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• DOT Inspector Certification.
• ASE Certification

• Must be a self-starter and willing to take initiative, able and willing to work without direct supervision, and be willing to attend appropriate training sessions.

• Ability to read, understand, and follow procedures and guidelines.
