Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Peer Specialist to join our team. As a Certified Peer Specialist, you will provide support and guidance to individuals with behavioral health challenges, drawing from your own lived experience. Your role will involve assisting clients in their recovery journey, promoting self-advocacy, and fostering a sense of empowerment.

Duties:
- Provide peer support and mentorship to individuals with behavioral health challenges
- Assist clients in setting and achieving recovery goals
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop personalized treatment plans
- Utilize crisis intervention techniques to deescalate challenging situations
- Facilitate psychoeducation sessions on topics related to mental health and wellness
- Advocate for clients' rights and access to resources within the community
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records

Skills:
- Strong knowledge of addiction counseling, crisis intervention, and behavioral health principles
- Familiarity with social work systems and community resources
- Excellent mentoring skills to provide guidance and support to individuals in their recovery journey
- Proficient in crisis management techniques to effectively handle challenging situations
- Ability to utilize motivational interviewing techniques to inspire positive change
- Experience in mental health counseling, providing empathy and understanding to clients

Requirements:
- Certification as a Peer Specialist or willingness to obtain certification within a specified timeframe
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in social work or related field is preferred
- Lived experience with behavioral health challenges is required
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
