Job Objectives:
Incumbent attends to the needs of the public and the Board by providing high-quality services to ensure a seamless and trustworthy voting experience. Incumbent is responsible for the processing, sorting, entering, filing, and auditing of voter registration records, the auditing of campaign finance forms and reports, notifying all polling locations and local jurisdictions of upcoming elections, confirming emergency contact information for all polling locations, proving voting materials to all high school registrars and designated agencies, and processing and checking candidate petitions.
Responsibilities:
- Organize, process, sort, and data enter voter registration forms and other related information.
- File and audit voter registration forms.
- Prepare materials for voter registrars.
- Maintain the official list of voter registrars.
- Prepare notices and agreements for all polling locations.
- Receive and audit campaign finance forms and reports.
- Distribute candidate petitions and provide instructions to candidates regarding petition completion.
- Receive petitions from candidates, review and enter petitions into the petition tracking module, and check petition and signature validity.
- Analyze and scan information associated with the election canvass.
- Assist the public, candidates, and elected officials with election-related questions.
- Prepare and create reports, letters, and forms as required.
- Assist co-workers with pre- and post-election duties.
- Maintain confidentiality and business integrity.
- Attend continuing education classes as required.
- Follow the record retention schedules as required by the Board of Elections and the Ohio Secretary of State.
- Perform all other duties as assigned, delegated or required including those prescribed by law, rule, or Directive.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Registered to vote in Ohio and affiliated with the Republican Party.
- Resident of Portage County, Ohio.
- Possession of at least a high school diploma or equivalent required. A bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Ability and willingness to work extended hours to meet deadlines and election requirements throughout the year.
- Possess a valid Ohio Driver's license.
- Possess an ability to thrive in a stressful environment with seasonal high workflow.
- Compliance with all other Portage County employment eligibility requirements.
Physical Effort and Work Environment:
Physical Requirements: Incumbent performs sedentary and non-sedentary work, which may require lifting up to thirty-five (35) pounds occasionally. Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
Physical Activity: Incumbent performs the following physical activities: talking, hearing, standing, walking, sitting, lifting, stooping, and repetitive motions.
Visual Activity: Incumbent performs work where the seeing job is close to the eyes and at a distance from the eyes.
Job Location: Incumbent works inside with little to no exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
