About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our team at Applied Materials. This role is essential in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our advanced manufacturing equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and supporting daily operations at our customer site in Austin, TX. This position requires a proactive approach, technical proficiency, and the ability to work effectively in a clean room environment, often during night shifts. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge technology production and work within a dynamic, innovative team committed to excellence and continuous improvement.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess an Associate's Degree in a relevant technical field and have between 4 to 7 years of hands-on experience in equipment maintenance or related roles within semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing environments. Proficiency in analytical processes, familiarity with hand tools, and experience working in clean room conditions are essential. Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work independently with limited supervision are also required. Candidates must be physically capable of performing demanding tasks, including extensive walking, lifting up to 35 lbs., working in tight spaces, and wearing personal protective equipment in a clean room setting.

Responsibilities

  • Check and manage part inventory to ensure availability for preventive maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate part orders and returns, ensuring proper documentation and tracking to maintain equipment uptime.
  • Be flexible with overtime and schedule adjustments based on customer needs and equipment availability.
  • Maintain a presence at the customer site and in the clean room daily to ensure all assemblies are prepared for scheduled preventive maintenance.
  • Collaborate with managers, leads, and engineers to ensure all maintenance activities are planned and executed efficiently.
  • Work closely with customer technicians and engineers to confirm all mechanical testing is completed before maintenance procedures.
  • Operate within a clean room environment, utilizing necessary tools and PPE to adhere to safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Assist in planning daily work schedules within assigned areas to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
  • Support a wide range of Applied Materials' systems through technical support and execution of maintenance activities, seeking technical assistance when necessary.
