Learn & Play Preschool provides a safe, nurturing, and developmentally rich environment where children learn through play. Inspired by Creative Play Preschool's founder—a dedicated mom with a Master's in Social Work—our program focuses on hands-on, play-based activities that build foundational academic and social-emotional skills. Our goal is to help every child grow into confident, curious learners.

Position Summary

We are seeking a caring and dependable Assistant Pre-K Teacher to support our Lead Teacher with children ages 4–5. This role involves helping plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate lessons, maintaining a positive classroom environment, and assisting with daily routines.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teacher in preparing and leading activities that support learning through play.
• Support classroom management, safety, and organization.
• Encourage children's independence, creativity, and social-emotional development.
• Communicate with families about daily activities and student progress.
• Help with daily routines such as cleaning, dishwashing, and toileting assistance.
• Collaborate with the teaching team to ensure a consistent, high-quality learning experience.

Qualifications

• CDA (Child Development Associate) Certification is required.
• Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred).
• Current NC Background Check/Qualification Letter.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
• Patient, energetic, and passionate about early childhood education.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
