Job Overview

The Allergy Technician plays a crucial role in providing support to healthcare professionals in the diagnosis and treatment of allergies. This position involves working closely with patients to ensure their comfort and safety while conducting various allergy tests and procedures. The technician will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of patient care and assisting in the management of patient records.

Duties

• Educate patients about allergy management strategies and provide information on medications and treatments.

• Conduct allergy testing procedures under the supervision of healthcare providers.

• Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patients for any adverse reactions.

• Maintain accurate patient records using EHR systems, including documentation of test results and treatment plans.

• Provide medical administrative support, ensuring that all documentation complies with medical terminology and coding standards, including ICD coding.

• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in a clinical setting to enhance patient care.

• Educate patients about allergy management strategies and provide information on medications and treatments.

• Ensure a clean and safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols.

• Insurance verification

Skills:

• Experience in Allergy Testing preferred but not required.

Proficiency in EHR systems (E Clinical Works preferred) for efficient patient record management, preferred not required

• Strong knowledge of dermatology, physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology

• Familiarity with medication administration protocols and intake processes.
