Job Description:

The Reception and Treatment Center is looking for a Corrections Unit Case Manager with strong interpersonal skills to lead a team of staff and work with our incarcerated population.

DUTIES:
• Provide supervision and guidance to Unit Caseworkers in the successful performance of unit management operations.
• Monitor inmate behavior and maintain order within housing units, addressing issues as needed.
• Guide and counsel inmates on rules, treatment plans, and rehabilitation programs, including crisis intervention and parole planning.
• Coordinate and document inmate background information and referrals for appropriate medical, mental health, educational, and vocational services.
• Facilitate non-clinical programming for assigned incarcerated population.

Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, behavioral sciences, human services or related field OR Associate's degree in criminal justice, behavioral sciences, human services or related field plus two years of corrections experience; OR four years of corrections experience.

Must be at least 18 years of age. No felony or domestic abuse related convictions.

Preferred Qualifications: 

· Experience supervising/leading teammates

· Experience managing a caseload

· At least one year of experience in a correctional setting 

· Experience as a guest instructor, facilitating programs or public speaking 

Other: Candidates will be required to successfully complete facilitator training and instruct non-clinical programming. Valid driver's license. Transcripts required prior to appointment. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam and, at a randomly announced time, pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program.
