About Us

DEVELOP is a fast-moving automation company that builds machines the right way. Clean engineering, clean wiring, clean machining, clean installs — that's the standard. We're a small team, but we run with the intensity and expectations of a company much bigger because we care about the work and we care about the people relying on these systems.

We take pride in the art of what we do. The surfaces, the toolpaths, the fit, the finish, the way a machine looks when you open the door — it all matters. They're intentional. Modern. Hard-edged. Built by people who care about the details.

We're aggressive in how we grow, how we solve problems, and how we show up for our customers. If you like slow, you won't make it here. If you like ownership, high standards, and being part of a team that punches way above its weight, you'll fit in.

About the Role

This is a hybrid machining + mechanical design role. You'll program parts from scratch, design fixtures, machine components, and help shape how this department grows. It's not production work and it's not a desk job — it's hands-on, creative, precise work that blends CAD, CAM, machining, and craftsmanship.

Everything you cut ends up in a robot, a machine, or a piece of automation equipment we ship to customers. Your work is visible, meaningful, and part of the final product.

If you care about the art of machining, the quality of your surfaces, and designing smart, simple solutions, you'll thrive here.

What You'll Do

  • Program every part from scratch using the CAM package you prefer (We currently run Fusion and CAMWorks — you choose what you're best in.)
  • Machine aluminum plates, fixtures, and prototype components with precision
  • Design fixtures and workholding in SOLIDWORKS
  • Modify part geometry and collaborate with engineering on manufacturability
  • Build and maintain tooling strategies, holders, offsets, and libraries
  • Keep the machining area clean, organized, and reliable
  • Support rapid prototyping and one-off builds for automation and robotics
  • Help shape and scale the machining function as DEVELOP continues to grow

Mechanical Design Requirements (Critical)

  • Comfortable designing fixtures, plates, brackets, and simple mechanical components
  • No engineering degree required — mechanical intuition and hands-on design experience matter more
  • Able to make design decisions that support machining, assembly, and automation
  • Confident working in SOLIDWORKS at a practical, shop-floor level

Who You Are

  • 3–10 years CNC machining experience
  • Strong CAM programming ability from scratch
  • Confident setting up and running 3-axis mills
  • Deep understanding of speeds, feeds, cutters, and modern machining strategy
  • Detail-driven — clean work, clean toolpaths, clean shop
  • Comfortable collaborating directly with engineers and builders
  • Ownership mindset — you run this function like it's yours
