Position Overview
The General Manager will oversee all daily operations of the community, working closely with the Board of Directors, homeowners, vendors, and onsite staff (if applicable).
This role requires a strong communicator, a team player with a consistently positive attitude, and a leader who is confident in directing and advising the Board of Directors. The ideal candidate is solutions-oriented, proactive, and capable of building strong relationships while maintaining the highest level of operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct daily operations of the onsite HOA office and common areas
- Serve as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors and homeowners
- Prepare and present board packets, financial reports, and meeting agendas
- Attend Board meetings and execute all follow-up action items
- Conduct regular community inspections and address maintenance needs proactively
- Oversee staff management, scheduling, payroll, and performance reviews (if applicable)
- Manage vendor contracts, insurance renewals, and major project coordination
- Ensure compliance with governing documents, the Davis-Stirling Act, and HOA policies
- Maintain documentation of homeowner concerns, rule violations, and resolutions
- Track and coordinate maintenance, repairs, capital improvements, and special projects
- Provide guidance on legal compliance, risk management, and industry best practices
- Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, board members, vendors, and the HOA Organizers corporate team
- Support the community with additional operational needs to ensure exceptional service delivery
- Fulfill any other contractual obligations and necessary duties to ensure smooth and effective community operations
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of HOA management experience
- CMCA certification preferred, but not required with proven experience
- Outstanding communication skills verbal, written, and interpersonal
- A true team player with a positive, professional, solution-focused attitude
- Confident in directing, guiding, and supporting the Board of Directors
- Solid working knowledge of the Davis-Stirling Act and California HOA regulations
- Exceptional leadership and conflict-resolution skills
- Proficiency in budgeting, financial analysis, and project management
- Highly organized with excellent time-management abilities
- Experience with HOA management software and office productivity tools
- Ability to cultivate a positive, service-oriented community environment
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $95,000 – $115,000 (DOE)
