Retail Sales Associate

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and motivated Retail Sales Associate to join our Sports Card shop. This position involves providing excellent customer service, assisting customers with product selections, and maintaining a well-organized sales floor. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, retail experience, and a passion for helping customers find the right products. Must have sports knowledge, and sports card knowledge is a big plus.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs
• Operate POS systems for transactions, including cash handling and cashiering duties
• Conduct product demos to educate customers about features and benefits
• Upsell products and promote special offers to increase sales
• Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring product availability
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly
• Assist with inventory management, including stock replenishment and stockroom organization
• Ensure the sales floor is clean, organized, and inviting at all times
• Supervise or assist in supervising team members when needed, ensuring smooth store operations
• Follow phone etiquette standards when communicating with customers over the phone

Skills

• Proficiency with POS systems and basic retail math calculations
• Strong communication skills, including clear verbal interaction and active listening
• Customer service-oriented mindset with a friendly demeanor
• Ability to perform retail tasks such as merchandising, stocking, and product demos effectively
• Experience in grocery stores or similar retail environments is preferred
• Knowledge of upselling techniques to enhance sales performance
• Basic math skills for cash handling and retail transactions
• Excellent phone etiquette for customer interactions over the phone
