Driver (Pre-Apprentice)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Working under the supervision of our Warehouse Manager, the Driver (Pre-Apprentice) would:

• Coordinate deliveries and pickups with supervisor and may need to coordinate with project managers, assistant project managers and foremen.
• Build loads for deliveries, verifying accuracy of loaded products before and after delivery to jobsite.
• Load/unload materials
• Maintain a safe load
• Possess ability to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather, equipment failures, etc.) in a timely manner
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and reports and signs for any corrective action taken for repair while notifying supervisor of issues.
• Maintain cleanliness of all equipment used to meet DOT guidelines.
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods, etc.) as well as company policies and procedures.
• Comply with all safety regulations within the company and jobsites, including but not limited to; wearing safety glasses, hardhats, vests, etc. when required.
• Notify supervisor immediately of accidents or violations.
• Fully understands and complies with DOT securement standards.

• Currently hold and maintain a valid Driver's License
• No major violations or accidents on driving record (past 36 months)
• Ability to obtain and maintain DOT physical medical card
• Individuals need to sit, stand or walk as needed; must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly using proper lifting techniques.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and maintain strict deadlines
• Work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong collaboration skills; team player
• OSHA-10 certified
• High school diploma or equivalent

Pay Range: $17.00-$18.00/hour
