The Longview School District is hiring a Substitute Teacher

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Schedule: Variable/On Call
  • Supervisor: Applicable School Principal
  • Pay: $27.85 per hour ($195.00 per day)
  • Closing Date: Monday, December 27th 2025

Qualifications

  • Valid Washington State teaching certificate.
  • Background check on file at OSPI. If you have not completed a fingerprinting background check within the past two years, you must be reprinted.

Essential Job Functions

  • Teach the lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher to achieve district student learning objectives and course expectations.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to individual students.
  • Maintain appropriate student records, including daily grades and attendance reports.
  • Enforce school rules and monitor student behavior in non-classroom settings.
  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively with other staff and administrators.
  • Fulfill other job related responsibilities as assigned.
  • Work with students, staff, parents, and other community patrons in an amiable and productive manner.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • On call as needed.
  • Salary begins at $195 per day and can increase depending upon the number of days worked in the current school year.
  • Paid in-service is available. The total hours of in-service earned are dependent upon the number of days worked in the current school year.

Disclosure Statement and Background Check: Pursuant to RCW through RCW , new employees will be required to complete a disclosure form indicating any convictions of crimes against persons as listed in the law. In addition, a background check based on fingerprints will be requested from the Washington State Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Job Sharing: Pursuant to RCW 28A , the district will accept applications from individuals wishing to share a position.
