Position Overview

Cavender Auto Group is seeking a Performance Development Manager to lead instructor-led training, in-store coaching, and performance development initiatives across multiple dealerships. This role is responsible for improving consistency, execution, and results by developing the skills and behaviors of Sales Consultants, Service Advisors, F&I Managers, and other dealership team members.

The ideal candidate is a strong facilitator and on-the-floor coach who understands dealership operations and is driven by measurable performance improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead instructor-led training classes and in-store coaching sessions across Cavender Auto Group dealerships for:

  • Sales Consultants

  • Service Advisors
  • F&I Managers
  • Additional dealership roles as needed
  • Deliver onboarding, new-hire, and ongoing performance development programs
  • Reinforce company processes, brand standards, and customer experience expectations
  • Conduct role-play, skill assessments, and live coaching during real customer interactions
  • Partner with executive leadership, General Managers, and department leaders to identify performance gaps and development needs
  • Support the rollout of new systems, tools, and initiatives through structured training and coaching
  • Track training participation, skill progression, and performance impact using defined metrics
  • Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and values-based leadership
  • Ensure development initiatives align with OEM requirements and Cavender Auto Group standards

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Commitment to upholding Cavender Auto Group's core values of Integrity, Empowerment, Commitment, and Innovation
  • Automotive dealership experience in Sales, Service, F&I, or Performance Development strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to facilitate engaging group training and deliver effective one-on-one coaching
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to influence without authority and work effectively across departments
  • Energetic, motivated, dependable, and punctual
  • Valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Willingness to travel between dealership locations as needed
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment
