The General Manager (GM), Quicken Steel will lead the full organization across commercial, operational, and financial functions with one primary mandate to drive aggressive revenue growth and profitability in cold-formed steel buildings and components. Full P&L responsibility and accountable for scaling sales, strengthening operations, improving customer relationships, and expanding Quicken Steel's market presence across all regions. The GM is expected to perform like an owner—building teams, processes, and culture that drive top-line and bottom-line performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
P&L Ownership & Financial Leadership
- Lead the entire business to meet or exceed revenue, margin, EBITDA, and cash-flow targets.
- Manage pricing strategy, cost controls, budget discipline, and financial forecasting.
- Implement deal review, quoting accuracy, and margin protection processes.
- Oversee KPI dashboards and performance reporting across all functional areas.
Commercial Growth & Revenue Generation
- Drive new building and component sales across all regions and customer segments.
- Build and manage a high-performing sales team with clear goals, KPIs, and accountability.
- Expand dealer/installer networks and strategic partnerships.
- Strengthen Quicken Steel's market position through brand presence, product value, and service differentiation.
- Leverage digital tools (MHub, Transact, etc.) to improve speed, transparency, and customer visibility.
Customer & Partner Relationship Leadership
- Build and maintain strong relationships with builders, contractors, developers, installers, and distributors.
- Serve as the executive face of Quicken Steel for key accounts and high-value customers.
- Ensure proactive communication, issue resolution, and high-touch service across the customer journey.
- Maintain strong relationships with mills, freight partners, fabricators, and key supply chain stakeholders.
Operational Excellence & Manufacturing Leadership
- Lead plant operations with a focus on safety, quality, throughput, staffing, and delivery performance.
- Implement standardized processes, SOPs, and lean principles to improve efficiency and reduce lead times.
- Oversee quality control and engineering accuracy with a zero-defect mindset.
- Ensure facilities, equipment, and teams are aligned to support scalable growth across multiple locations.
Organizational Leadership & Culture
- Build and develop leadership across sales, operations, engineering, finance, and customer service.
- Create a high-performance culture centered on accountability, speed, communication, and continuous improvement.
- Recruit, retain, and develop top talent at all levels of the business.
- Lead with transparency, clarity, and a customer-first mindset.
Strategic Planning & Growth Execution
- Develop and execute short- and long-term strategies to expand Quicken Steel's geographic presence, product lines, and capacity.
- Lead new facility ramp-ups in growth markets (Ohio, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and others).
- Champion digital transformation, data-driven decision-making, automation, and workflow optimization.
- Expand Quicken Steel into new end markets, building types, and value-added services.

Education, Training and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Operations Management, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum ten (10) years of leadership experience in manufacturing, building products, steel fabrication, modular construction or adjacent industrial sectors.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in operations management, including at least 5 years in a senior management role
- Success track record of leading full P&L and scaling revenue and profitability.
- Experience managing commercial and operational teams simultaneously.
- Proficiency in building multi-site operations and market expansion strategies.
- Proven track record in strategic planning, team leadership, and financial management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements
- Deep understanding of construction cycles, supply chains and manufacturing workflows.
- Strong knowledge of modern digital tools, platforms, and systems, with the skill to integrate technology into business processes and decision-making at an enterprise level.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen, with the ability to shape pricing strategy, drive sales effectiveness, expand markets, and deepen customer relationships to accelerate growth.
- Strong operational insight, with the ability to optimize throughput, oversee production scheduling, uphold quality standards, plan labor effectively, and reinforce a culture of safety.
- Advanced financial literacy, with the ability to apply budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and KPI-driven management to improve performance and guide strategic decisions.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building ability, fostering trust, alignment, and cross-functional collaboration at all levels of the organization.
- Proven capability to institutionalize systems, processes, and data-driven discipline that enhance consistency, accountability, and measurable outcomes across teams.
- High levels of resilience and drive, with the ability to navigate complexity, lead through ambiguity, and sustain momentum in periods of rapid change and growth.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Business Administration or a related discipline.
- Fifteen (15) years of leadership experience in manufacturing, building products, steel fabrication, modular construction or adjacent industrial sectors.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, Lean, or Six Sigma.
Supervisory Responsibility
- Provides full oversight of the business operation, leading all direct and indirect associates across functions.
- Responsible for organizational design, hiring, retention, development, and performance management to ensure a high-performing, engaged, and accountable workforce.
Additional
- Must demonstrate the flexibility and commitment required of an executive leader, including the ability to work beyond standard business hours and adapt to the needs of a fast-paced, dynamic operation.
- Must be willing and able to travel regularly to customer sites, industry events, and company locations, representing the organization and ensuring alignment, performance, and relationship continuity across the business.
