The Position

This position is responsible for overseeing the organization's physical security and safety operations, serving as Safety Officer to ensure a safe and secure working environment for all Mid-America Transplant staff. The role leads and supports the monitoring, response, and incident management activities that protect employees, facilities, and organizational assets. Acting as a key liaison for incident response and system administration, this position ensures secure access control for facility entrances and exits. The role also assists with the daily administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of physical security systems to uphold organizational safety standards.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee the written Emergency Response Plan (ERP) and safety programs, including acting as the Safety Officer

  • Proactively address safety concerns and ensures a safe working environment including compliance with applicable standards and requirements, including OSHA

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for work-related injuries/illnesses

  • Educate all staff on safety and security procedures including personal safety and overall workplace safety, including safe clinical practices

  • Lead disaster, emergency, crisis preparedness, recovery plans, and relevant safety drills

  • Facilitate safety and security site assessments to determine areas of improvement

  • Develop and ensure effective implementation of security initiatives, processes, and programs

  • Serve as a liaison with the fire department, police or other law enforcement agencies as appropriate.

  • Assist with security system programming, troubleshooting, and administration related to the installation, service & maintenance and continued use of physical security systems

  • Communicate status of physical security systems and related device outages or issues to internal and external stakeholders

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of equivalent educational, certification, and/or industry experience required

  • Ability to obtain and maintain St. Louis City & County Security Officer License upon hire and ability to obtain and maintain.

  • 3+ years' experience with utilizing physical security access control, identity management, CCTV, alarm monitoring, and situational awareness systems or platforms strongly preferred.
