The Nash is a modern American restaurant in downtown Houston, known for its refined cuisine and commitment to quality and consistency. We are seeking a motivated and skilled Line Cook to support our Executive Chef and culinary leadership team in daily kitchen operations.
The Line Cook will:
- Prepare and execute menu items according to The Nash's recipes, standards, and plating guidelines.
- Work closely with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to support daily service, prep, and special menus.
- Assist with food preparation, station setup, and breakdown before and after service.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of assigned stations in compliance with health and safety standards.
- Follow proper food handling, storage, and labeling procedures.
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth, efficient service.
- Support inventory management and minimize waste through proper portioning and prep practices.
Job Requirements
- Culinary school graduate or current student preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in a professional kitchen environment (fine dining or upscale casual preferred).
- Solid understanding of basic culinary techniques, knife skills, and kitchen terminology.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Passion for food, hospitality, and professional growth in the culinary field.
Compensation & Benefits: Competitive hourly wage based on experience, plus opportunities for growth and mentorship under an experienced Executive Chef. Benefits available.
