Electrical Estimator: Commercial Projects

South Paw Electric is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our growing team. This role is critical to our commercial construction success and requires strong knowledge of local and state electrical codes, accurate take-offs, and competitive commercial bidding experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed and accurate electrical estimates for commercial projects

• Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to identify project scope

• Perform quantity take-offs for labor, materials, and equipment

• Apply local and state electrical code requirements to all estimates

• Develop and submit competitive bids within required deadlines

• Collaborate with project managers, foremen, and operations team to ensure smooth project handoff

• Track bid outcomes and assist with post-bid reviews

• Maintain estimating databases, pricing, and historical cost data

• Communicate clearly with general contractors, vendors, and internal teams

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of electrical estimating experience, preferably commercial

• Strong working knowledge of local and state electrical codes

• Proven experience with commercial electrical bidding

• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Proficiency with estimating software, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office

• Ability to manage multiple bids and meet tight deadlines

• Journeyman or Master Electrician license

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with design-build or negotiated projects

• Familiarity with local AHJ requirements

• Strong communication and teamwork skills
