Sr Systems Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Sr Systems Engineer to join our global technology team. This role is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and performance of enterprise systems, ensuring availability, security, and consistency across Windows and Citrix environments.

This is a hands-on position requiring strong technical expertise combined with excellent communication and collaboration skills. The role involves both operational support and engineering work, partnering with various technology teams to deliver core business initiatives. Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain operational excellence by ensuring systems are secure and up to date.
  • Manage project tasks throughout application implementation life cycles, following best practices and architectural guidelines.
  • Provide support for back-office applications, including trading platforms and financial systems.
  • Configure, design, and implement solutions for Citrix and Windows environments.
  • Update and maintain documentation, improving processes as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and assist help desk teams with escalated issues.
  • Monitor infrastructure health and capacity, providing reports and recommendations.
  • Support capacity planning and performance monitoring to meet business needs.
  • Assist with day-to-day server environment management.

Minimum Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, ideally within a financial or trading environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Advanced experience with Citrix technologies (Delivery Controller, PVS, StoreFront, Netscaler/VPX).
  • Citrix Cloud experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with profile management tools such as FSLogix.
  • Expertise in engineering solutions across on-prem and cloud data centers.
  • Working knowledge of SCCM or similar platforms for system updates and deployments.
  • Extensive experience with Windows Server environments and Microsoft applications (SQL, Exchange, Active Directory).
  • Strong Active Directory skills, including replication, domain setup, GPOs, and ACLs.
  • Knowledge of Office 365, Azure AD, and related Microsoft services.
  • Experience with MS security services (ATP, Intune) and vulnerability management tools (e.g., Rapid7).
  • Understanding of infrastructure security and authentication (SAML, Kerberos, RADIUS, MFA).
  • Familiarity with privileged access and identity management.
  • Experience with monitoring platforms, alerting, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and participate in on-call rotation for a 24/7 IT operation.
  • Ability to support multiple global locations.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills

  • PowerShell and Azure DevOps toolset.
  • Experience with monitoring and Syslog platforms (e.g., LogicMonitor, SumoLogic).
  • Knowledge of Cisco UCS, VMware, and SAN technologies.
  • Familiarity with backup solutions (e.g., Commvault, Rubrik).
  • Experience with PagerDuty.
  • Relevant certifications are a plus.
  • PKI / Microsoft Certificate Authority experience.
