Security Officer

The Godfrey Hotel is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Officer to join our team.

In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our premises, staff, and guests. This position requires a proactive approach to conflict management, surveillance, and emergency response to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and patrol designated areas to ensure the safety and security of all occupants.
• Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, or emergencies with professionalism and efficiency.
• Conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify potential risks or hazards.
• Manage and oversee the hotel key lock system, including random employee key audits and the distribution of key fobs to new and existing staff.
• Partner with the hotel's third-party security company to ensure smooth and seamless operations.
• Employ de-escalation techniques to manage conflicts effectively.
• Provide first aid and CPR assistance when required.
• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary.
• Document incidents and prepare detailed reports for management review.
• Implement and assist with loss prevention strategies to minimize theft or damage.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications (e.g., conflict management) are a plus.
• Previous experience in law enforcement or security is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of first aid and CPR techniques; certification is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with surveillance systems and their operation.
• Strong conflict management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team.
• Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.

Schedule:

• Flexibility with overnight shifts is required, as primary availability will be overnight.
