Role: Workday Technical Architect

Duration: 11+ months

Location: Richmond, VA

Note: Looking for 12+ years of experience.

Inviting applications for the role of Workday Technical Architect.

In this role, the Workday Technical Architect is responsible for ensuring technical stability, scalability, and continuous optimization of the Workday ecosystem across HCM and Finance. This role provides technical leadership for integrations, extension and Prism platform (optional), and reporting, with hands-on support for AMS incident management, enhancements, and workday and client releases.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the highest technical escalation point for production issues and AMS problem management.
  • Analyze recurring issues to drive long-term fixes and process improvement.
  • Lead technical design and governance for integrations, security, and reporting across tenants.
  • Manage the full integration lifecycle — design, development, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Oversee data flow between Workday and third-party applications using EIB, Studio, Core Connectors, and APIs.
  • Ensure Workday Extend, Prism, and Orchestrate apps follow security and performance standards. (if applicable)
  • Manage technical readiness for Workday bi-annual releases; review new features and regression impacts.
  • Lead system monitoring, interface error management, and root cause analysis.
  • Enforce adherence to technical and change control standards across AMS.
  • Mentor AMS developers and analysts; review code and integration designs.
  • Lead reviews of Workday Security Groups and Access Controls.
  • Conduct quarterly security audits; ensure compliance with GDPR, SOX, and data privacy regulations.
  • Support incident response in case of security or integration breaches.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BE/MBA/M. Tech
  • Workday certifications in Integrations Services Pro, a Deep understanding of Studio, PICOF, and PECI is mandatory.
  • 8+ years of Workday experience; at least 3+ years in Technical Architecture roles.
  • Hands-on experience supporting multi-country tenants (e.g., US, Mexico).
  • Experience in handling PII/Comp/Confidential data.
  • Knowledge of Security configuration in Workday.
  • Experience in work on all project phases, including fit/gap.
  • Hands-on Integration experience in EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder), Studio, PECI, PICOF
  • Workday Web Services API, XML, XSLT
  • Core Connectors – Worker and Payroll, PECI Connector
  • Cloud Connect for Worker, CCB
  • CCTPP PICOF/PECI
  • Custom Reports & Calculated Fields

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills

  • Proficiency in Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, Workday APIs, and Workday Extend.
  • Experience in Prism Analytics, Orchestrate, and integration middleware.
  • Strong understanding of HCM and Financial data models and reporting objects.
  • Familiarity with Agile AMS delivery and ITIL-based service management.
