Summary
Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Air and Marine Operations, Tactical Aircraft and Marine Vessel Division located in Washington, D.C. This is a Direct Hire Public Notice. Category Rating, Veterans' Preference and traditional rating and ranking do not apply to this Public Notice.

Duties
Joining Customs & Border Protection (CBP), Air and Marine Operation (AMO), will allow you to utilize your expertise in engineering in overseeing various engineering projects, initiatives, and policies that support the entire Acquisition workforce. This position starts at a salary of $142, GS-14, Step 1) to $185, GS-14, Step 10). Typical duties include: Serving as project leader or subject matter expert and, generally, as the Contracting Officer's Representative for large and complex multi-year projects, as well as other specialized and unique technical projects Preparing technical and logistics support specification requirements and other technical and logistics support documentation, as well as documents required for solicitation packages; evaluating technical proposals; preparing reports; assisting in negotiations; and monitoring the contractor's performance Serving as system owner for highly complex domain awareness systems and maritime and aviation integration efforts, ensuring that systems obtain and maintain accreditation. Planning, coordinating, and evaluating technical reports and analysis in support of highly complex maritime, aviation, domain awareness, and sensor technologies Traveling to field locations and interfacing with other government agencies to coordinate the installation and operation of large and complex domain awareness, surveillance, and communication systems

Qualifications
Basic Requirement: You must provide supporting documentation in your application to show you meet the basic requirement below. A. Degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat
