A day in the life

This is a 12 hour shift position You'll kick off each shift by aligning priorities, safety expectations, and quality goals with a cross-functional group. Throughout the day, you'll orchestrate production schedules, balance equipment utilization, and supervise a team that assembles components in an industrial environment. You'll monitor key performance indicators across multiple departments, coach team members, solve downtime and quality issues, and keep communication open in one-on-ones and stand-up meetings. You'll also spend a portion of your time on individual tasks that advance the unit's objectives.

What you'll do
  • Translate plant objectives into department strategies; guide your team to execute successfully.
  • Direct daily activities for multiple production areas; manage priorities as products and equipment availability change.
  • Track and improve performance metrics across quality, cost, output, and safety.
  • Lead daily meetings with cross-functional partners; present technical updates and schedules.
  • Collaborate to resolve quality, performance, or downtime issues quickly.
  • Initiate or lead cost-reduction and continuous-improvement projects.
  • Support change management and provide hands-on training for new processes, procedures, and equipment.
  • Cultivate a positive, motivating environment aligned with Corning's values; communicate priorities clearly.
  • Maintain rigorous safety regulations and housekeeping standards.
  • Investigate and resolve manufacturing issues impacting product or process performance.
  • Support ISO 9000 and AS9100 standards and participate in plant meetings as needed.
What you bring
  • BS/BA in Engineering or Supply Chain Management (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years in manufacturing within quality, engineering, or operations.
  • 2+ years leading people in a supervisor/manager capacity.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data for decision-making and understanding relationships.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; comfortable working across diverse teams and management levels.
  • High attention to detail; proficiency with Microsoft Office, electronic document management, and ERP systems.
Preferred
  • Background supervising manual assembly or machining operations.
  • Excellent organization and presentation abilities.
  • Performance Excellence experience; Green Belt in DMAIC, Six Sigma, or Lean.
  • Knowledge of SAP ERP.

Travel may be required (5-10%).

Compensation and rewards

The range for this position is $61, $88,000.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
