Warehouse Supervisor

What we are looking for at QPSI?

This positions plans, organizes, and monitors the receiving, storage, and distribution of all items received either from suppliers or production shops ensuring a smooth and consistent operation so parts and supplies are located and distributed to proper departments in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy internal and external customer requirements. The principle responsibility of every employee is to aid in the production of superior quality products.

The Warehouse Supervisor reports to the Warehouse Manager or the Plant Manager. The Warehouse Supervisor provides strategic and tactical leadership to the shipping and receiving functions. This position has overall responsibility for the company's physical warehouses on and off site from 12pm to 8:30pm.

What our Warehouse Supervisor will be accountable for at QPSI?

· Manage forklift operators & bailer.

· Resolve any issues that may occur with shipping or receiving by working with carriers as needed.

· Plans and coordinates work, trains, and motivates, monitors and evaluates performance of warehouse and receiving associates; ensures their ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials to and from storage configurations; counsels, records, and disciplines as necessary. Develops associates to effectively oversee the daily routines of their assigned associates' members.

· Maintains an equipment structure and level to accomplish the warehouse and receiving mission in a safe, effective manner. Provides appropriate equipment and tracking to ensure the safe transport and storage of all materials. Researches material handling equipment to ensure procurement of the most suitable equipment in terms of performance, safety, reliability, and cost.

· Monitors the unloading of all materials into the Receiving Department; ensures materials are staged for counting and inspection; ensures receiving reports accurately report material received. Resolves discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports. Monitors the flow of paperwork from receiving to inventory control for timely data entry. Oversees the movement of material from receiving to the warehouse in an efficient, effective and safe manner.

· Oversees the supplying of materials to fabrication and stages material for assembly and sub-assembly, ensures materials are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures. Oversees the rotation of inventories within the warehouse.

· Monitors and measures receiving and warehouse performance for accuracy of locator, receiving reporting, movement and storage of material, and transfers to service parts.

· Other duties as assigned.

What Qualified Candidates for Warehouse Supervisor must have to be successful at QPSI?

· High School Diploma or equivalent

· 3 to 5 years' experience in warehousing, receiving, inventory control, or materials manufacturing environment with two years supervisory experience.

· Strong knowledge of receiving, warehouse, and material handling operations, methods, and practices.

· Ability to develop personnel and equipment structures to support present and future operations.

· Knowledge of bar code technology and electronic data interchange a plus.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and superior organizational abilities.

· Ability to read, write, and understand English (Bi-lingual language skills in Spanish preferred).

· Ability to take initiative, maintains confidentiality, meet deadlines, and work in a team environment essential.

· PC-based computing experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access). ERP experience preferred.
