Integrated Health Centers of West Virginia (IHCWV), a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), is seeking a compassionate and community-minded Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to deliver comprehensive primary care services in rural, underserved communities. Since 1994, IHCWV has served patients across West Virginia by improving access to care through our sliding fee scale for the uninsured or underinsured.
We welcome applications from Physician Assistants (PAs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) who are passionate about public health, enjoy caring for patients across the lifespan, and are committed to improving healthcare access in medically underserved areas. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
Position Overview:
The APP will work collaboratively with IHCWV's Chief Medical Officer and interdisciplinary team to provide primary care services in a community-based, outpatient setting. This includes diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions, promoting wellness and prevention, and delivering patient education.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical history and physical exams
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic health conditions
- Order, interpret, and follow up on lab and diagnostic tests
- Prescribe medications and other treatments within the APP's licensure and scope of practice in WV
- Provide health education and preventive counseling to patients and families
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, behavioral health providers, and support staff
- Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner
- Participate in clinical quality improvement activities and team meetings

Qualifications:
Minimum:
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- National certification (e.g., AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)
- Current or eligible West Virginia licensure as an NP or PA-C
- Current or eligible West Virginia prescriptive authority
- BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
- Strong clinical reasoning, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Comfort working independently in a rural healthcare setting
Preferred:
- 2+ years of primary care experience (not required — new grads welcome)
