Part-time Optometrist

Overview
Join our small Ophthalmology practice in Brooklyn Heights as a Part-time Optometrist. You will provide comprehensive eye examinations from start to finish, diagnose vision and health issues, and recommend appropriate treatments or corrective measures. Availability to work Tuesdays is a must, with option to also work Mondays and Fridays as desired.

Duties

• Conduct thorough eye examinations from start to finish, including visual acuity tests, refraction assessments, and ocular health evaluations
• Diagnose and manage eye conditions related to ophthalmology, such as glaucoma, cataracts, and retinal issues
• Refract and prescribe corrective lenses and provide patient education on proper eye care and maintenance
• Maintain accurate medical records on our paper charts
• Stay current with medical terminology, physiology concepts, and recent advancements to deliver high-quality eye care

Experience

• Must have OD degree and prior work in clinical setting and patient care
• Familiarity with medical coding and documentation processes to ensure accurate billing and record keeping
• Ability to applanate and use AR, OCT, fundus photo

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $85.00 per hour

Expected hours: 6 – 18 per week
