Medication Technician Third shift

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safe administration of medications to patients in various settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, and hospice care. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, adherence to HIPAA regulations, and the ability to work effectively in acute care environments.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications to patients according to established protocols and guidelines.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions or side effects following medication administration.
• Maintain accurate records of medication administration and patient responses in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Provide compassionate caregiving support to patients, addressing their physical and emotional needs.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills related to acute care environments.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a healthcare setting such as a hospital or nursing home is preferred.
• Knowledge of medication administration procedures and relevant regulations is essential.
• Familiarity with acute care practices, hospice care, tube feeding, and catheter care is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA standards.
• Certification as a Medication Technician or equivalent training is required.
