Overview:

The Riverside HealthCare Foundation is seeking a quality professional with exemplary relational skills for outreach to donors in our region. In joining our high-functioning Foundation team, the Foundation's Advancement Officer will connect community members' charitable interests with opportunities to impact healthcare through:

  • Teamwork and collaboration,
  • Relationship building and strong communication skills, and
  • Development and achieving of measurable goals.

All candidates should have a minimum of a bachelor's degree and seven years of related experience in a professional setting. He or she should demonstrate a record of goal achievement and provide a listing of personal references.

The Advancement Officer is responsible for a portfolio of major gifts prospects and donors, as approved by the Foundation Director. He or she will implement a strategic moves management matrix of communication, cultivation, solicitation, planned giving, and stewardship involving email, direct mail, phone/mail, personal visitation focused building relationship and realizing major gifts that support Riverside's mission.

Job Responsibilities: (Essential job functions)

  • Work with the Foundation staff to implement and realize annual goals and objectives for the major giving program.
  • Advance an active portfolio of donors for major and planned giving. Individual will have a passion for engaging donors in their stage of life, helping to connect healthcare services with philanthropic dreams of donor, while building trust.
  • Proactively identify, cultivate, steward, and solicit major donor prospects. Work closely with board members, key donors, physicians, and volunteers to connect current and potential donors to Riverside.
  • Develop and lead major and planned giving fundraising events, cultivation events, or other events.
  • Work with all Foundation staff to integrate prospect identification, research and tracking systems and ensure up-to-date information accuracy of major gift prospects and completed gifts.

Responsibilities:

Required Education:

  • Bachelors degree required.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum seven years of fundraising development experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in health care fundraising preferred.
  • Experience with high net-worth individuals preferred.
  • Proven skills with moves management techniques in a not-for-profit setting preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • High degree of initiative with excellent, independent follow- through.
  • Knowledge of techniques and sources for prospect research.
  • Ability to interact effectively and in a professional manner with a wide array of people at all levels of the organization.
  • Self-motivated, organized and goal-oriented team player, capable of managing several projects at once. Meets deadlines consistently.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office software and fund raising database systems. Use of Constant Contact and Donor Perfect platforms are ideal.
