Information Technology Field Technician Facilitator

· Work under the supervision of the Director, Information Technology (I.T.).

· Provide technical assistance supporting district-wide technology relating to networks, hardware, and software via telephone and remote control of computers to ensure minimal down time and greatest student and staff productivity.

· Respond to inquiries relating to hardware and/or software for the purpose of resolving problems in support of district sites and users.

· Maintain and develop, when necessary, technical documentation for the purpose of providing instruction and reference.

· Install desktop applications and network access software for the purpose of providing upgrades to maintain current district standards.

· Assist in maintaining and supporting district inventory, remote access, imaging, software licensing, help desk, etc., resources utilizing district software packages.

· Detailed knowledge of and able to support:

o Microsoft operating systems and Office applications

o Google Workspace for Education

o Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari web (current versions)

o Apple iOS and macOS operating systems

o Hardware includes but is not limited to: PC's (memory, CDRW and hard drives, monitors, etc), laptops, Chromebooks, printers, document cameras, VoIP phones, DVD players, and LCD projectors.

· Ensure workload, documentation and tickets are completed for designated area of responsibility

· Lead the completion of special projects, ensuring completion within the given timeframe

· Ensure all team members are upholding a high quality of work and customer service

· Maintain accountability of teammates, inform the IT Director of personnel problems

· In conjunction with the IT Director, set standards for desktop software and classroom technology equipment

· Work closely with the System Analysts, setting district standards for desktop management and deployment practices and communicate with their team members to ensure district consistency in implementation

· Receive direction from the IT Director and execute

· Advise the IT Director concerning any issues arising within designated area of responsibility

· Ensure team has proper coverage in each of the 'Additional Duties' areas

· Ensure new technicians are trained properly and perform to the standards of the Information Systems department

· Provide support to the I.T. Department when necessary.

· Assist in supporting customer service goal of the I.T. Department.

· Perform other duties as assigned by the Director I.T.

:

· A.A.S. in Computer Science or related field preferred.

· Minimum two years' experience in help desk or technical support capacity or equivalent education and work/field experience.

· Expertise and knowledge with LAN technologies supporting data, voice, and video.

· Working knowledge and hands-on experience with personal computers, internet/intranet protocols and standards.

· Experience with and knowledge of Acer and Dell Latitude and Precision laptops, and Dell Dell Optiplex CPUs preferred.

· Experience with and knowledge of Dell, HP, and Acer Chromebooks preferred.

· Ability to maintain accurate records.

· Ability to work under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods.

· Ability to diagnose, and solve problems, and exercise independent judgment.

· Ability to plan, organize, prioritize work, complete tasks, and meet deadlines in a timely and efficient manner.

· Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with people with diverse technical knowledge and skills. Including district administrative staff, school building staff and students.

· Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.

· Must be punctual, dependable, self-disciplined, and have excellent attendance.

· Able to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information and data.

· Previous experience providing technical support in a K-12 environment is preferred.

· Strong customer service skills and understanding of business telephone etiquette are required.

· Demonstrate effective communication skills, both oral and written.

· Either A+, Net+, MCAS, and/or MOS certifications are desired.

o A+ Certification is required within 180 days of employment to retain position.

· Valid Washington State Driver's License.

7:00am – 4:00pm, Monday - Friday Eligible

The duties of this job require the employee to regularly sit and use hands to type, finger, feel, or handle; reach with hands and arms; and manually keyboard. Sitting for extended periods of time is required. Close and color vision/inspection is also required.

The employee is also expected to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
