SUMMARY: The Financial Operations Director is a leader responsible for driving financial strategy, operational excellence and team performance, working directly under the Chief Operating Officer (COO) to ensure strong financial management and operational efficiency across the organization. This role is responsible for overseeing core finance functions, supporting the COO with organizational budgeting, monitoring expenditures, improving operational systems, and driving performance metrics. The Director will also ensure compliance with financial and operational policies and contribute to data-driven decision-making.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Management & Analysis
· Support the COO in managing and monitoring the organizational budget, including cash flow, expense tracking, and forecasting.
· Creation of yearly agency budget.
· Oversees agency audit, program audits, and financial grant reports.
· Work closely with the Comptroller and/or Accounting Manager to ensure accuracy in reporting, reconciliation, and compliance with nonprofit accounting standards.
· Prepare and review monthly financial statements, variance reports, and department-level spending analysis.
· Responsible for compliance with financial policies and regulations.
· Contribute to grant and contract budgeting, financial reporting, and audit preparation.
· Develop and maintain dashboards for financial KPIs to inform executive leadership.
Cross Functional Leadership Support
· Serve as a liaison across departments to ensure alignment with operational and financial objectives.
· Assist with implementation and monitoring of strategic initiatives and capital planning efforts.
· Support COO in executive-level reporting and board-level data preparation.
General Duties:
Adheres to Agency and Department policies and procedures.
Participates in Agency and Department meetings and events, collection of data/information, and Quality Improvement Monitoring and Review.
Collaborates with C-Suite to develop budget, strategy, and implementation of the strategic plan.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Director supervises assigned staff and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's or CPA preferred). At least 5 years of experience in nonprofit finance and operations, with increasing leadership responsibility. Demonstrated experience managing or directly supporting budgets in the $5M–$10M range. Familiarity with fund accounting, GAAP, and nonprofit audit processes. Valid current Driver's License.

Pay: $90, $100,000.00 per year
