Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Underground Pipelayer Foreman to join our Civil construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising a crew of 2-6 members with the installation and maintenance of reclaim, water, sewer, and drainage systems, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety. This role requires a strong understanding of construction practices, project scheduling, and effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and manage project timelines efficiently.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate underground pipe installation crews.
- Ensure proper alignment and grading of pipes.
- Install, repair, and maintain various types of pipelines in accordance with project specifications and schematics.
- Conduct site assessments to determine the best methods for pipeline installation.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop project schedules and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Implement quality control measures throughout the installation process to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications.
- Manage all water, sewer, and storm drain systems safely and productively.
- Ensure the correct materials and tools are used in underground utility installations.
- Solve problems as they arise, collaborating with the team for the project to run smoothly.
- Conduct safety and quality audits, ensuring the worksite is safe and productive.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety regulations.
Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in underground wet utility construction.
- Proven experience in pipeline installation or related construction fields is preferred.
- Familiarity with construction management principles, including project scheduling.
- OSHA 30 is preferred.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong understanding of quality control processes within the construction industry.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to facilitate teamwork and project coordination.
