Full Time Restaurant Host/Hostess

We are seeking a full time restaurant Host/Hostess to join our team at Marek's Collier House on Marco Island, Florida.

The position is 5 days a week, Tuesday through Saturday. Starting time will be either 12:00pm/ 1:00pm until approximately 8:00pm /8:30pm. Applicants must be committed and willing/able to work the above days and times.

The outline of the position will be as follows:

12:00pm/1:00pm until 4:00pm: Check OpenTable for upcoming shift, create seating chart for the evening according to restaurant availability and guest requests, Call reservations to confirm reservation, Create server sections for the evening, answer restaurant phone with any guest inquiries, Perform any additional tasks assigned by Management.

4:00pm - 8:00/8:30pm: Greet and seat guests, answer phones, keep track of guest counts for servers, perform host side-work duties.

Ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills and previous hospitality / hosting experience. Proficiency using OpenTable is a plus. Must be a critical thinker, have great problem solving abilities and an outgoing/friendly personality.

Duties

• Welcome guests warmly as they arrive and assist with seating arrangements
• Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
• Answer phone calls with professional phone etiquette and handle guest inquiries
• Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and service
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand area
• Assist guests with special requests and provide information about menu items or restaurant policies
• Support guest services by addressing concerns promptly and courteously
• Uphold high standards of hospitality, ensuring guests feel valued throughout their visit

Skills

• Proven experience as a host/host or in food service/hospitality roles
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Familiarity with restaurant POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build guest relations quickly
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Professional appearance and friendly demeanor
• Knowledge of hotel or guest services experience is a plus
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays if needed
• Exceptional phone etiquette and guest interaction skills

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
