Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Kitchen Supervisor to oversee daily kitchen operations in a dynamic food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary experience, and a solid background in food safety and management. This role involves supervising kitchen staff, ensuring quality food production, maintaining inventory control, and delivering exceptional dining experiences. The Kitchen Supervisor will play a key role in menu planning, shift management, and upholding high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service
- Oversee food production processes, ensuring quality and consistency in all dishes
- Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and monitoring stock levels
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards
- Assist in menu planning and development to meet customer preferences and dietary requirements
- Lead shift management, including scheduling staff and assigning tasks
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment at all times
- Monitor food handling practices to uphold hygiene standards
- Collaborate with catering teams for special events and large-scale food service operations
- Provide training and mentorship to kitchen staff to promote professional growth and team cohesion
Requirements
- Proven experience in banquet, fine dining, or restaurant management roles with supervisory responsibilities
- Extensive culinary experience with strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and food industry best practices
- Background in dietary department operations, catering, or large-scale food production preferred
- Demonstrated team management and leadership abilities with effective communication skills
- Knowledge of inventory management, control procedures, and food safety regulations
- Experience with menu planning, shift management, and kitchen operations oversight
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Hospitality-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering excellent customer service
- Relevant certifications in food safety or culinary arts are advantageous
