Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical procedures, excellent communication skills, and a passion for providing outstanding patient care. As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists during various procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the smooth operation of the dental practice. Your role is vital in delivering high-quality dental services while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all patients.

Duties

  • Assist dentists during clinical procedures including chairside assisting with general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments.
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection control standards.
  • Take dental radiographs (X-ray) using appropriate techniques while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Operate electronic medical system, we use Dentrix Asend, to accurately document patient information, treatment plans, and medical history.
  • Manage patient intake by taking vital signs, medical history, and explaining procedures to ensure patient comfort and understanding.
  • Maintain cleanliness and aseptic techniques throughout the clinic to prevent infection and ensure compliance with health regulations.
  • Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and assisting the dental reception staff as needed.
  • Utilize 3D scanners and other advanced imaging tools for comprehensive diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and preventive measures to promote overall dental wellness.
  • Stay current with industry standards by participating in ongoing training related to dental terminology, medical coding, HIPAA compliance, and emerging technologies.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.
  • Experience with chairside assisting across various specialties including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics.
  • Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners with precision.
  • Familiarity with medical documentation standards and medical coding for billing purposes.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, especially pediatric patients.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy at all times.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow.
  • Understanding of medical terminology relevant to dentistry and pediatrics for accurate documentation and communication.

Schedule:

Our Dental office is open 5 days per week, 12 hours days. We do prefer three 12 hours shifts 7a-7p, we can be flexible with four 10 hours shifts if needed.

Pay: $ $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
