SME Data Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned
SME / Principal Data Engineer
to lead the design and evolution of a modern analytics ecosystem built on Databricks. This role is critical in ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely, and scalable data solutions that empower high-impact decision-making and product insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and enhance a Databricks-driven analytics platform to provide dependable, real-time data for strategic analysis.
• Design, implement, and refine robust data pipelines leveraging Kafka streaming, batch ETL processes, and API integrations to guarantee consistent data availability for business and customer needs.
• Streamline workflows and unify fragmented data sources to improve accessibility and accelerate actionable insights.
• Drive improvements in data infrastructure performance, reliability, and scalability to support mission-critical operations.
• Partner with cross-functional teams in an Agile setting to translate business and customer requirements into innovative data engineering solutions.
• Offer architectural direction and technical leadership to ensure solutions align with customer objectives and long-term system sustainability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (four years in lieu of degree).
• Minimum of 12 years of experience delivering advanced data engineering solutions that create measurable business or customer value.
• Deep expertise in Databricks, Kafka, ETL development, workflow automation, and large-scale data processing.
• Strong knowledge of data architecture, pipeline design, and infrastructure optimization for high-performance environments.
• Proven experience in Agile, customer-centric environments collaborating with diverse teams.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate technical decisions in terms of customer impact.
