Position Overview

We are seeking a Tax Manager to join our team beginning January 2026. The Tax Manager will oversee individual and business tax engagements, manage workflow for staff, review returns, communicate tax positions and projections to clients, and support proactive tax planning strategies.

This role is ideal for someone who wants autonomy, leadership opportunity, and a seat at a firm that values innovation, efficiency, and high-level advisory work — not just compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Preparation & Review

  • Review and prepare individual, partnership, S-Corp, and corporate tax returns
  • Review quarterly and annual tax projections
  • Identify tax savings strategies and communicate them clearly to clients
  • Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely filing

Client Communication & Advisory

  • Serve as main point of contact for assigned clients
  • Explain tax results and planning recommendations
  • Build strong ongoing relationships and deliver an exceptional client experience

Team Leadership & Workflow

  • Manage preparers and staff accountants
  • Oversee return workflow in the firm's software stack
  • Train and mentor junior staff
  • Help refine and implement tax processes and SOPs

Planning & Strategy

  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies for high-income clients
  • Stay on top of tax law changes and proactively communicate impacts
  • Collaborate with partners on tax process improvements and capacity planning

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of tax experience (public accounting preferred)
  • CPA preferred (or EA accepted)
  • Strong knowledge of individual, partnership, and S-Corp taxation
  • Experience with tax planning and communicating projections
  • Comfortable working directly with clients
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-moving environment
  • Experience with QBO, Onvio, UltraTax, or similar software is a plus
  • Interest in leadership and process improvement
