Job Summary
The Massage Therapy Instructor is responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the principles, techniques, and ethics of massage therapy. This role combines classroom instruction with hands-on practical training in a clinic setting, preparing students for successful careers as licensed massage therapists.
Key Responsibilities
· Teach a variety of massage techniques (e.g., Swedish, deep tissue, sports massage).
· Provide lectures and demonstrations on anatomy, physiology, pathology, and kinesiology.
· Incorporate ethics, business practices, and client communication into lessons.
· Develop and update lesson plans and instructional materials.
· Administer written exams and practical skill assessments.
· Track and report student progress and attendance.
· Supervise students during hands-on practice in the clinic.
· Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
· Provide constructive feedback to improve student technique and professionalism.
· Maintain knowledge of state and national licensing requirements.
· Ensure curriculum aligns with regulatory standards and accreditation guidelines.
· Offer career guidance and professional development advice.
· Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
· Participate in faculty meetings and program development.
· Maintain accurate records for grading and reporting.
Qualifications
· Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) in good standing.
· Minimum of 2–3 years of professional massage therapy experience.
· Strong communication and organizational skills.
· Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $ $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 39.5 per week
