Job Overview
We are seeking a experienced and professional Dental Assistant to join our dental team. Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly with aseptic technique
  • Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging technology such as 3D scanners and traditional radiography methods
  • Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Epic, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
  • Provide vital signs monitoring and assist with medical documentation for patients with special needs or medical conditions
  • Support infection control protocols by adhering to strict sterilization procedures and maintaining a clean clinical environment
  • Act as a dental receptionist when needed, greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and managing medical records and coding accurately for billing purposes

Skills

  • Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and managing dental terminology
  • Experience with the EMR system Dentrix, for efficient record-keeping and documentation
  • Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic technique to ensure patient safety
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding for accurate documentation
  • Ability to operate dental equipment including 3D scanners, X-ray machines, and other diagnostic tools
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and ensure compliance within the dental clinic environment
