Monday - Friday Management position

Please note that dietary management experience is required.

Job Summary:
The Dietary Food Service Manager oversees the daily operations of the dietary department in a nursing facility. This position ensures residents receive nutritious, well-balanced meals that meet their medical and dietary needs while complying with state, federal, and facility regulations. The manager is responsible for supervising dietary staff, maintaining food safety and sanitation standards, and creating a positive dining experience for residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and direct food service operations, including meal preparation, service, and sanitation.
  • Develop menus that follow physician orders, resident care plans, and dietary regulations.
  • Work with nursing staff and dietitians to accommodate special diets and individual resident preferences.
  • Hire, train, and supervise dietary staff, ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
  • Maintain compliance with state, federal, and Department of Health regulations.
  • Manage food inventory, supplies, and department budgets.
  • Ensure proper documentation of menus, dietary assessments, and compliance records.
  • Participate in care plan meetings and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Promote excellent customer service and a welcoming dining environment for residents and families.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in dietetics, nutrition, or food service management preferred.
  • Previous experience in healthcare dietary management strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of long-term care dietary regulations and safe food handling practices.
  • ServSafe or equivalent certification required.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
