Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining accurate specimen documentation. This role requires a thorough understanding of laboratory procedures, specimen collection techniques, and patient care to support diagnostic testing and healthcare delivery. Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood sampling using proper phlebotomy techniques to ensure specimen integrity.
- Collect, label, and process blood specimens accurately according to established protocols.
- Maintain strict aseptic technique during specimen collection to prevent contamination or infection.
- Obtain vital signs and assess patient physiology as needed to ensure safe and effective sample collection.
- Prepare specimens for transportation or laboratory analysis, ensuring proper storage conditions.
- Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and ensuring patient comfort throughout the process.
- Follow all safety guidelines and infection control procedures in accordance with hospital or laboratory policies.
- Maintain detailed documentation of collected specimens, patient information, and procedural notes in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Assist with laboratory procedures as needed, supporting overall laboratory operations.
Experience
- Proven laboratory experience with a focus on clinical laboratory procedures and specimen collection/processing.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, including venipuncture, blood sampling, and vital signs measurement.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology relevant to blood collection procedures.
- Previous experience working in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred, demonstrating competence in patient service and safety protocols.
- Certification as a Phlebotomist or equivalent training is highly desirable but not mandatory if extensive relevant experience is demonstrated. This position is integral to delivering high-quality healthcare services through precise specimen collection and compassionate patient interaction.

Pay: $ $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 per week
