The Role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Growth team, focused on SEO, AEO, and acquisition. In this role, you will drive product growth by building scalable systems that improve discoverability across traditional search, AI‑powered discovery, and emerging surfaces. We're looking for strong problem‑solvers who enjoy cross‑functional collaboration and care deeply about writing well‑structured, tested, and maintainable code. You'll work closely with product, data, and marketing partners to understand how we operate today and help evolve our systems over time, with meaningful influence over the technical direction of growth at Linktree.
What You'll Own
  • Design, build, and integrate scalable, observable systems and APIs that power acquisition, experimentation, analytics, and SEO/AEO‑friendly discovery; this includes crawlable architectures, rendering strategies, metadata, structured data, and key third‑party integrations.
  • Build and maintain full‑stack features and backend services that support growth, acquisition, SEO, and modern AEO at scale.
  • Make technical decisions by working backwards from desired outcomes, taking pride in delivering simple, pragmatic solutions that drive measurable impact.
  • Partner closely with product, data, design, and marketing to deliver improvements in discoverability, performance, and user experience across web and platform surfaces.
  • Leverage data, analytics, experimentation, and A/B testing to validate growth initiatives, inform trade‑offs, and iterate based on clear, well‑defined metrics.
  • Contribute to AI‑enabled initiatives such as AI‑assisted discovery, search relevance, content understanding, personalization, or LLM‑powered experiences that enhance acquisition and visibility.

  • Who We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience; a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience is preferred, with advanced degrees a plus.
  • Strong experience building modern services that power web products, including designing, implementing, and integrating APIs, internal services, and third‑party systems, and operating the cloud infrastructure behind them.
  • Experience with our core service stack (TypeScript, , MySQL/PostgreSQL, REST/GraphQL), with exposure to cloud‑based and service‑oriented architectures (e.g., AWS, event‑driven systems, data platforms).
  • Proficiency in full‑stack development with a backend focus, and a solid understanding of web fundamentals that influence SEO, AEO, and performance, such as rendering strategies, structured data, indexing, and page speed.
  • Demonstrated experience building data‑driven systems, including strong SQL skills, data modeling, analytics tooling, experimentation frameworks, and A/B testing to support growth and acquisition work.
  • Familiarity with modern growth, SEO, and AEO ecosystems, including search and analytics tooling, crawl and indexing considerations, and AI‑powered discovery platforms.
  • Exposure to AI‑ or ML‑adjacent systems such as LLM‑powered search, ranking, personalization, or content understanding, with an interest in applying these technologies to real product problems.
  • A proven ability to design robust, maintainable systems while also feeling comfortable shipping an initial version quickly, learning from feedback and data, and iterating.
  • Comfort thriving in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment and contributing to improvements in performance, reliability, and operational efficiency across services and APIs.

  • Linktree is committed to providing a fair and competitive compensation package including cash, equity, and benefits. The base salary offered for this role is targeted at $190,000-$215,000 for roles based in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Final offers depend on multiple factors including location, experience, expertise, and role scope, and may vary from the range listed.
P.S. If you don't tick every box in this listing, please don't rule yourself out. We take pride in inclusion and hiring incredible human beings with great potential over ticking boxes – so if this role resonates with you, hit that apply button
